Why Modo? (as opposed to the better known Autodesk 3DSMax or Maya): The better known 3DSMax costs ~$3.5K, while Modo has very similar functionality at less than half the price. You will be hard pressed to find a 3D software package with as much power and functionality as Modo for ~$1.3K.
